Waiting

Have you ever been in a crowded room
And felt as if someone was missing?
Engaged in conversation, feeling it is superficial,
As your mind is carrying on its own conversation.
Hoping, waiting for someone to come.

Fast forward in time, ten years.
You are on a city bus, commuting to work.
You hear the chatter around you yet,
Your mind is carrying on its own conversation.
Hoping, waiting for someone to come.

Another ten years go by.
You are sitting at home watching T.V. and
Your mind is again, having its own conversation
As you hope, wait for someone to come.

My Angel

Five years, my son
since you and I met
in that room full of toys.

You were tiny and fragile for being almost two years
could barely speak,
not very good on your feet.

Your big brown eyes
and curly dark locks
the dimple that showed
when you smile
claimed my heart
right from the start.

You were given a second chance
for a family who would love
you unconditionally.

None of us knew
of the struggles we would face
but somehow knew it was fate.

Fast Forward in time
every bedtime
I remind you
you are my Angel, my Hero
for all that you have endeared, overcome.

I will never regret saying "yes"
to the workers who
brought us together.
You are a precious gift
my Angel forever.

Freedom

Fear

is Paralyzing
Physically
Mentally
Emotionally

Freedom
is Overcoming
Embrassing
Accepting
Moving

From that which is feared.

Masquerade

A crowd gathers
All looking the same
Eyes covered
All unknown

You walk in
And look around
Dazed and unfocused
Wondering how

You close your eyes
Listening to the feeling within
Slowly stepping
Here and there

You stop, turn around
Opening your eyes
You see her
Waiting
In her disguise

The room seems silent
As you focus on her
Her hands reach up
The mask falls

She smiles in that way
You know you've won
Both silently wondering
What other games
Are to come

Rain

Rain
Falling from the sky
Or
From my eyes
It is the same
Cleansing
Purifying
Renewing of spirit

Smiling
Happy and dancing
Playing
Rain
Falling from the sky

Driving
Chasing wipers
Getting stuck
From the
Rain
Falling from the sky

Memories come
Flooding back
Happy and sad
Glancing out the window
Wiping at my eyes
As Rain
Falls from the sky

Me

His glances that I catch
His stare which penetrates
Eyes wandering
Ignites me.

Sometimes silent
Other times whispered
Softly, firmly
Awakens me.

A sweet caress, a firm grasp
It doesn't matter
Always wanted
Inspires me.

Grey Sky Blue

I used to hate grey skies but then learned to love them.
It was under grey skies that I fell in love
 to many beautiful things
and the sky turned blue

I've learned that without grey skies,
one can't fully appreciate the blue.
Have you ever noticed how much
Bluer the sky looks after
it was cleansed with rain?

My soul feels hope and optimism
Just as the sun breaking through
A grey sky made blue.
Everything seems fresh and anew
When the grey sky turns blue.

There are days when I long for the grey skies,
When I sit and remember how I felt.
A smile plays on my lips
I feel warmth in my soul
And I'm taken back
And suddenly I feel
The sky turn blue.
